Nightlife
The Pays de Gex is more of a ‘day time’
place with just bars and restaurants open in the
evenings.
There are just two nightclubs, Alexanders
in Ornex between Ferney and Gex and the New
Chêne Club in St Genis, but everywhere
you’ll find charming traditional cafés
and bars to watch the world go by from. Paddy’s
pub in Ferney is a favourite with ex-pats.
There are three cinemas in the
Pays de Gex; Ferney, Divonne and Gex, with the
cinema in Ferney often showing films in English

Divonne casino is one of the
biggest in France, and despite a strict dress
code and entry taxes, it boasts nearly 300 slot
machines in addition to black jack, roulette etc.
In the complex you will also find other entertainment
such as a piano bar and dancing.
